We would like to say thank you to BMC Barry Miscio Contracting for making our emotional decision to re-build our existing family cottage of over 50 years and turn it into our four season dream home.

Barry took the time to lay out all details we'd need to know to do a project like this and spent numerous hours prior to the build making sure all needed permits were in place, including septic approval, the building permits and shore line allowances.

Drawings and plans were reviewed and site measurements were taken to confirm everything would fit the site requirements.

We can't say enough about the effort and quality of workmanship Barry and his trades delivered on this project. They ensured that we were satisfied with every aspect right down to the smallest details and we would like future clients to know how much we appreciated Barry's endless time and efforts with every small detail on this project to make the process as seamless as possible.

We are planning to build again in the near future and are looking forward to having BMC Barry Miscio Contracting on site for the build.

Larry and I met Barry Miscio in 2004 after we purchased our first tear-down cottage on Kennisis Lake.

BMC Barry Miscio Contracting built our first cottage there (approximately 1350 square feet with a walk out basement) and Barry and his crew did a wonderful job. 

Barry was able to show potential clients our cottage and it resulted in BMC building half-a-dozen cottages similar to the one he had built for us on Kennisis Lake.

After building our first cottage my husband wanted another garage and because Barry was booked up, we waited until the following year. We wouldn’t have anyone else build it for us.

In the fall of 2015, we purchased a lot on Little Kennisis and again had Barry come look at our fabulous property - calm bay, walk in water - great for our grandchildren. 

Barry has now built our permanent home which is approximately 3000 square feet with a walk out basement. The BMC crew had our new home completed, turn-key in a year, the date Barry had committed to.

In our opinion BMC Barry Miscio Contracting is an honest, trustworthy, professional builder. His workmanship is outstanding and he stands behind his work, his commitment dates, and his quoted costs. In all of our experiences with Barry he’s a man of his word.

When shopping around for a builder for our new cottage in Haliburton we knew no one in the area but we were not “newbies” to construction as we had built our first home and also our businesses with commercial builders. 

I guess you could say that when it came to find a Haliburton builder we had become very fussy as to who would get the job.

BMC was mentioned to us above all others!

Barry is so very emotionally involved, as if it was his baby! We love that about him. His knowledge is through the roof. We never had to worry about the next step. He took care of everything, above and beyond!  

His attention to detail is impeccable which is perfect because we are annoying perfectionists!  Barry has this amazing calming demeanour, trusting, honest and puts his clients first always. He shoots straight from the hip and makes the build most enjoyable.

Barry and his lovely wife Paula are the nicest people ever.  We enjoyed our first cottage build with them both so much we are getting ready to build cottage number two, going even bigger but definitely not better because you just can’t get any better building with BMC Barry Miscio Contracting.

When we decided to tear down our old cottage and build a new one we were very apprehensive of the process as this was our first new build.  

Having interviewed a number of contractors we decided on Barry Miscio Contracting. Barry took us around to some of his completed projects and introduced us to a number of his clients as references. We were very impressed with his work and the positive comments from his various customers.  

As we began to work with Barry on our home we discovered that he had a great understanding of what his clients wanted and not just what he wants to build. In fact he was always a few steps ahead of us anticipating our questions.

The build itself was great. He did what he had committed to doing for us and he did it on time. When a problem came up, Barry made it, "not a problem." His group of guys Jim, Chris, Terri and Dan became a part of our family as they built our cottage, always going above and beyond.

We could not be happier with the home that Barry built for us and our family!
